CHRIS MULLER JOINS THE WHEELER SOCIETY WITH ESTATE-PLAN GIFT TO SUPPORT HWS HERALD EDITOR

Chris Muller

Hobart and William Smith remarkably altered the course of my life. Since graduating in 1974, I’ve had a very full and fortunate life and have been able to contribute regularly to the Annual Fund, giving a bit more toward my Class Gift every five years.

Recently, I discovered I could make a bigger impact by including the Colleges in my will and joining The Wheeler Society. In honor of my 50th Reunion this past June, I increased that amount. With a gift in my will, I’m able to make a gift I never expected—an amount too large for me to give in any single year but hardly important to me in the future. (I freely say this is also a wonderful way for my three adult children to become reluctant philanthropists.)

With a Wheeler Society membership form, I stipulated that my bequest be used to create an annual stipend for the editor-in-chief of the HWS Herald. It would have been quite remarkable to have had a former editor reach out from a half century ago and help me with my work, so to be able pay it forward for a future editor means so much to me.

You, too, can make an impact on the future of HWS by documenting a planned gift and becoming a member of The Wheeler Society.
