The Wheeler Society

The Wheeler Society was established in 1989 in memory of Schuyler Skaats Wheeler Sc.D. 1888 (inventor of the electric fan) and his wife Amy Sutton Wheeler.  The Wheelers’ bequest was realized nearly 100 years later and used in the 1990s to renovate Gulick Hall. Today The Wheeler Society is made up of more than 1,000 alums, parents, and friends who hold a special place in their hearts for Hobart and William Smith.

Anyone who makes a planned gift in support of the Colleges is welcomed as a member of The Wheeler Society.  Those members aged 60 and older who document their gift will have the full amount recognized as a contribution to HWS, including counting towards any reunion year class giving.
